New York, NY—October 17, 2011— It’s lights, camera, action for a select group of professional stylists chosen as quarter-finalists in Empire’s “Become the Next Master of Beauty” contest.
Almost 200 stylists are moving on to round 2 and will be asked to upload a two-to-three minute video of their work in one of three Masters of Beauty inspired categories. The online contest, underway atwww.facebook.com/mastersofbeauty, kicked off in March with stylists uploading photos of their work highlighting a cut, color or style.
The first place winner receives a high-end education package, the opportunity to present on stage with Nick Arrojo at selected Tour of Beauty dates in 2012, plus $10,000. The contest culminates in April 2012, when the winner is announced live on Main Stage at the International Beauty Show in New York City.
“It’s great to see so many professionals getting involved,” says Arrojo, the headliner of Empire’s Masters of Beauty program, renowned stylist and master educator. “I am looking forward to seeing the next round of entries. The videos will give us an even better look at what these stylists can do. The winner will need to show us a sense of style and vision.” To watch Nick review the entries and share his thoughts on the next round, follow this link:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_3T4k8q18c
Empire’s award-winning Masters of Beauty Skills Certification Program, featuring non-product specific, hands-on training with Arrojo, has been touring the country since last year. Quarter-finalists will need to showcase a cut, color or style in a Masters of Beauty inspired category. The public will vote, and then combined with input from Arrojo and his team, 10 semi-finalists will be chosen January 15, 2012
Along with the Become the Next Master of Beauty contest, Empire is also running the Master Apprentice contest, exclusively for its students. That winner earns a full-time, paid position at ARROJO Studio in New York City, and $10,000.
Second and third place winners also receive a cash prize, three Masters of Beauty Skill Classes and the opportunity to attend a Beauty Systems Group event.
