The HBO Miniseries “Mildred Pierce” which is a five part miniseries starring Academy Award winner, Kate Winslet premiered last night.
The movie is based on the 1941novel about a woman who is struggling to balance her new life as a single mother with two children and a new career.
Filming of the movie took place in Peekskill, New York. Students and Staff watched how our Northern Westchester School of Hairdressing & Cosmetology was converted into Cristofor’s Cafe, a vintage diner where Pierce worked as a waitress before becoming a successful restaurateur. The School was one of two locations used to film interior shots.
The students of Northern Westchester School of Hairdressing & Cosmetology had an experience they will never forget being able to work as production assistants, extras, and help with make-up and costume designs.
The miniseries will continue Sunday night on HBO!
