Orlando, FL, October 28th, 2010 – Empire honored for Advanced Education and Community Involvement.
Modern Salon Media has recognized Empire Education Group during its first class of ‘Excellence in Education’ awards. The winners were announced during the AACS (American Association of Cosmetology Schools) annual convention in Orlando, Florida. The new program highlights leadership and best practices among cosmetology schools. Modern Salon Publisher Steve Reiss announced the recipients, of which Empire was the only school system to win in two categories.
Empire received top honors for Alumni & Advanced Education Programs, and Community Involvement. The Masters of Beauty Skills Certification Program was cited for its advanced classes with Nick Arrojo. The inspirational workshop allows stylists around the country to learn hands-on, non-product related techniques they can use in the salon immediately. “We are thrilled and honored that our Masters of Beauty program has been recognized,” said Dorothy McKinley-Soressi, VP of Industry Relations for Empire Education Group. “We designed this program as a way for our alumni and other stylists to stay connected to education and keep on top of the latest trends and techniques. This is critical, in our minds, to the success of our graduates. It arms them with the up to date skills they need to climb the ladder in this industry.”

The award highlights the campus’s work with local colleges, the Waltham Boys & Girls Club, as well as a local nursing and rehabilitation center. Empire’s Arlington Heights, IL campus was a finalist in the same category.
Empire Education Group also received an honorable mention in the Beauty Changes Lives: Leadership category.
