Wyoming Valley , PA, Cosmetology School Continues Celebrating Mom Tour
The Wyoming Valley, PA, Empire Beauty School continued Empire Education Group’s Celebrating Mom Open House event, honoring all mothers with pink and white carnations and a vase as they came into the school on Tuesday, January 11th. The school also encouraged students to invite their mothers for salon services and complimentary make overs.
The students were also given a task to create a “famous mom” out of one of their mannequins, which the students then showcased to all the guests. Some of the “famous moms” portrayed were Marge Simpson, Carol Brady, Wilma Flintstone, Peg Bundy, and Samantha Stevens.
The Wyoming Valley school presented a check to their local adopted domestic violence shelter, Women’s Resource Center, in the amount of $2,811.50. This money was raised for the shelter during the National Day of Beauty event.
“Everyone at Women’s Resource Center, including the mothers and children leaving domestic and sexual assault situations, really appreciate everything you (students) and Empire does for us at the shelter. Thanks you,” said Lea Dougherty, Communications and Grant Specialist for the shelter.
