The Paradise Valley, Arizona, Empire Beauty School celebrated moms by honoring each with a carnation during the school’s Celebrating Mom open house event. Welcomed guests enjoyed complimentary beauty services, tours of the school, a check presentation, and more.
The cosmetology students were very involved in the planning of the open house as well as the day’s activities, such as the mannequin up-do competition.
The students showcased their talents for their guests and displayed their final creations for all to see. “Everyone worked together as a team and we all came together to have a great event at our school,” said Executive Director Mele Kramer.
The biggest event of the day was the check presentation to Chrysalis, the school’s adopted anti domestic violence shelter. The students raised $1,530.67 during Empire’s National Day of Beauty in 2010 for the shelter.
“The students were excited to see how much money they raised for the shelter. The students were proud of their participation when they became more aware of the impact they made upon Chrysalis,” added Kramer.
The students and staff of the beauty school are very much looking forward to the next open house, as well as the National Day of Beauty 2011.
