Lauderhill, FL, Beauty School Makes Donation To Shelter

 Women in Distress, a local shelter in Laurderhill, FL, humbly accepted a check from Empire Beauty School students of the Lauderhill campus.

The students raided $1,125.70 for the shelter during Empire Education Group’s National Day of Beauty event in October.

Mary Riedel, President and CEO of Women in Distress of Lauderhill, delivered a moving speech to students, staff and guests at the Celebrating Mom Open House event, and further explained how mush she appreciated the school’s support and cooperation.

Guests of the open house event at the school also enjoyed pampering from the students and refreshments.  The students also hosted a contest for their guests.  Teams of four students worked on a mannequin to create a look of a popular sitcom mother.

“The Mom’s Day event was very rewarding and successful,” noted an Empire staff member of the event.
