Exton Teams Up With Hair Cuttery For Mentor Program
The Exton, PA, Empire Beauty School and five Pennsylvania Hair Cuttery Salons have teamed up for the second year to provided “Future Professionals” from the Exton location with the opportunity to expand their knowledge and technical skills by participating at the school’s mentor program.
The mentor program pairs up students and salon team leaders from the five Hair Cuttery locations to build personal and professional relationships that benefit the Future Professionals.
In the first year of the program, seven students participated and several accepted employment within the Hair Cuttery System, Students, who completed the program last year, expressed gratitude to the Exton staff for making this program available. Graduates from the program felt that the mentors in the program gave back considerably to the students and beauty industry by sharing their time and expertise with the participants.
Participating students in this year’s voluntary program completed the application and interview process with the management of Hair Cuttery at the beginning of April. Those selected were assigned a salon team leader who will act as their personal coach and mentor throughout the program. Throughout the mentor program, students practice technical skills, observe the day-to-day operations of a busy salon, learn and explore the elements necessary to deliver customer service, and understand retailing and client retention.
As a student successfully progresses in the program they are invited to attend several advanced education classes at the Hair Cuttery Training Center with top stylists and network with salon professionals. Hair Cuttery and Empire provide a certificate of participation and award ceremony at the training center when students complete the program – a win-win for participants.
