Top 5 Nail Looks For Spring

by Megan Murray

You can hear the geese coming back, and buds are poking through the ground. It is the time when everyone’s thoughts should be turning to Manicures and Pedicures!

You know sandal season is right around the corner, and now is the perfect time for you to spruce up tips and toes with the hottest nail looks for the spring.

Here are five great looks from designer runways that you can try today!

Glitter and Black Ombre –  Tom Ford showed a bold pink glitter faded into a glossy black that looked both hot and cool.  For a super bold racecar vibe, try a red glitter base. This combination looks best on long pointed nails, but it can easily be modified for shorter nail shapes and pedicures by using more muted nail polish colors.

Light Grey – For those of us who work in a more conservative work environment, or just want a polished look, light, glossy grey is the perfect way to transition into spring.  A matching mani-pedi in this unexpectedly feminine hue looks very chic. Remember to keep the grey as neutral as possible so it is flattering to your skin tone.

Ultra– Luxe  Nail Art – Black nails adorned with rhinestones, leopard print polish, and metallic silver manicures loaded with crystals were all over Spring 2018 Fashion Week. If you love bold art, take it to the limit…but make sure it looks expensive. For those with a more toned-down fashion vibe, metallic polish shades like gold and bronze look like jewelry for your nails.

Gradient – Can’t decide on what shade of pink nail polish to wear? Wear them all!  Progressive color gradient nails were hot on the runways. Go from black to grey to white, or go from hot pink to near nude. This indecisive look is great for those of us who tend to buy similar shades of nail polish over and over again (guilty!).

Green – Green is the color of grass, the color of St. Paddy’s day, and the color of new life.  Green is also the color of St. Baldrick’s Foundation, an organization dedicated to fighting childhood cancer. Stop by your local Empire Beauty School and get a $5.00 manicure. All proceeds go to support this wonderful charity.

So readers, we want to hear from you! What is your favorite nail color? Do you like nail art? Do you have some great nail art to show off? Let us know!
