You never want the long days of summer to end… but they do. And, before autumn truly sets in, you’ll need to make a few changes to your beauty routine. You don’t need a complete overhaul, mind you. But, it’s enough that you should take notice.
That lovely glowing tan that you’ve worked all summer to maintain is about to fade. (Sorry!) As your skin tone fades, it’s time to take a look at lighter foundations and powders.
You might also want to consider your eye colors so that they are seasonal. Also, take a look at your wardrobe for the the latest color trends.
If you don’t pay attention to hydration, you’ll have dry, itchy skin before you know it. Not only will you need to apply more lotion when the fall weather hits, but you’ll also need a thicker moisturizer.
If you use toner, don’t forget to change that too. Look for something that says ‘hydrating’ rather than a product that will dry oily skin.
As much as you want to warm your body and relax in long, hot showers, these are extraordinarily drying to your skin. Pay a little more attention to your shower routine as the weather get colder. To avoid dehydrating your skin, take shorter, and if possible, colder showers.
It’s so much more difficult to air dry your hair during fall and winter. You know you’ll use more heat on your hair during this time, so make time for a deep conditioning treatment – and do these regularly until it’s warm enough to air dry again.
Last but not least, don’t forget about your lips! You’ll need a stronger lip balm than you needed in the middle of summer. Make sure you’ve got a couple of new balms in your coat or purse to protect your lips from chapping when you are outside.
