A peek inside a beauty school textbook: Hairdesigning

Empire Beauty School uses a program called Certified Learning in Cosmetology,or CLiC.  The program combines textbooks with interactive DVDs and classroom presentations. You might be curious what kind of textbook you’ll be using during beauty school.  Let’s take a peek into Hairdesigning.

• Your beauty experience starts with terminology.  Graphics break down the elements of what each concept means.
• Next, you move on to all the combs, tools and client safety measures you could imagine. Seriously, there’s a lot of tools to learn about.  How many brushes do you think there are?
• A beauty career is a face to face client job.  You’ll focus on what you need to help your clients make the best choices for them according to body type and face shape.  Are you a mesomorph or an endomorph?
• After some science and math, you move on to long hair designing.  If you like bridal styling, this is your chapter: you can do lots of crazy twists and braids with long hair.
• Move on to creatives like curlers and waves, then wrap up your studies with some hair extension and wig tips.  Whoo … after the basics, there’s a lot of design and artistry mixed in with cosmetology studies.
