Illinois Physical or Financial Hardship Policy (110 ILCS 66/20)

It is the policy of Empire Beauty School to limit debt owed by students that withdrew from the institution due to significant financial or physical hardship and to assist those students, if and when they choose to re-enroll.

If a student must withdraw due to a physical or financial hardship, the student must notify the School’s Executive Director in writing. The Executive Director will notify the Student Accounts Department by forwarding the student’s notification to studentaccount@empire.edu. The School will then work with the student on a case-by-case basis regarding the debt owed to the School. The School may request supporting documentation to substantiate the physical and/or financial hardship.

  • Serious injury or illness
  • Chronic illness
  • A medical issue of a family member, where the student has to become a caretaker
  • A mental health condition
  • A sudden or consistent transportation issue
  • A significant cost of living increase

If a student who withdrew because of physical or financial hardship would like to re-enroll, they must contact the School’s Executive Director. No application or registration fee will be charged upon re-enrollment.

Illinois Past-Due Debt Policy (110 ILCS 66/30)

Empire Beauty School does not withhold transcripts or diplomas from current or former students because the student owes a debt to the School. Current and former students are not subject to a transcript or diploma hold.

  2. Select the “Transcript Request” link at the bottom of the page under the Current Students section:

The Registrars will review all requests and mail official transcripts in the order received. Each student or former student is entitled to one free transcript of all hours completed and the grades earned. The school charges $2.00 for each additional transcript.

Former students who owe a debt to the School will be assigned to a third-party collection agency after 180 days of non-payment.
