Spring Beauty Trends! Already?
The weather is getting cooler, the leaves are starting to turn, and there is pumpkin flavored EVERYTHING. Fall is knocking at your door. This is the time of year that the beauty and fashion world turn their eyes to spring. You read that right, spring. As the amazing Ivan Zoot has told you, you need to stay ahead of the trends. Lucky for us, Pantone released its spring 2013 color report on the first day of fashion week. This amazing palette of colors will inspire you through the chilly fall nights and the dreary winter days.
While the colors for 2012 were all about “hot” with the standouts being Tangerine Tango and a neon pink Cabaret, spring takes a walk on the cool side. Like a walk through a butterfly garden, the spring colors evoke a delicate, yet bright sensibility.
Blues and greens are all over this color selection, and rumor has it that Monaco Blue will be the color of 2013. Blue eyeshadow was a big trend at this year’s fashion week shows. You can almost see the eyes rolling already. I personally love blue eyeshadow, but for the color-phobic, the muted African Violet will be a great substitution. Pantone has suggested pairing the African violet with the Poppy Red color, which at first made me cringe. Of course, a beauty professional will come up with a look so amazing that we will wonder why we didn’t think of putting Red and Violet together before Spring 2013.
For those still in love with orange, no need to worry. Orange won’t be going away any time soon. Nectarine is a beautiful, yet softer translation of last year’s colors. So, if you still have that orange lipstick around, top it was a soft pink gloss and you will be on the mark.
As with any trend, it is about doing what makes YOU feel good. Trends are just new ways of seeing things.
I would love to hear how you will incorporate the new spring colors into your hair, make-up, and fashion choices. What colors set your heart a-flutter? What colors would send you into hiding? Let us know!
