Men's Trend Spring / Summer 2012
Blending, blending, blending. Men’s hair cutting has always been all about blending. That is not going to change. When you have the chance to sit in on a training class with me we will discuss men’s hair cutting and clipper cutting. I guarantee we will discuss blending. As long as I am sharing men’s hair cutting blending classic tapers, fades and other haircuts will be a key component of my program. That being said, in the last few years, ladies haircuts have been all about disconnection. Disconnection or the lack of blending of areas or components of a haircut has been a key element of recent shapes and fashion trends in lady’s hair.
My big men’s hair fashion and trend prediction for spring and summer 2012 is the rise of the appearance of disconnection in men’s hair. Disconnection will disconnect form just lady’s hair and emerge in the guy hair cut game. Classic tapering of edges and perimeters will continue to be a popular component of many guy’s looks. Longer tops and back lengths will be seen to dominate as well.. The big trend will be in the disconnection, the non-blending”, of these perimeters and tops. The image included in this posting is a great example of this emerging trend.
The trend lends itself to the demonstration of many of the skills modern hair cutters are working hard to master. Clippering perimeters is classic barbering all the way. Razoring longer, textured tops is contemporary cosmetology at its trendiest. Blending the best of these two disciplines and skill sets will make unblended guy’s haircuts popular fashion choices and a great way to showcase your up-to-date professional skills.
Keep your eyes on the street and the heads of the guys who set the trends. Better yet, get your hands on one of those guys and get in on trend setting for yourself.
