Blinded by the light: Empire Education Group's bright future
Beauty education can be a tough field to be in. There are a lot of schools out there, some associated with big celebrity names in beauty. Others are very exclusive and, um, expensive. When Empire Beauty School entered cosmetology education way back in 1935, they had one goal in mind: To change lives. Through educating students to cut, style and dye hair, Empire’s founders hoped to improve their lives.
In 2000, Empire began expanding by finding a school that fit their values in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2007, Empire merged with the Regis Corporation School, allowing a tremendous opportunity to students. Today, Regis allows for a career network of over 12,000 salons nationwide. Needless to say, that calculated growth just keeps going.
Recently, Empire Education Group began renovating their headquarters in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. It will be completed in the next several months, offering a new cafeteria space, green ‘bottle saver’ water fountains and more modern office space for corporate employees.
There’s more: Empire Education Group acquired an organization with even more history than theirs. The Westmore Academy will become part of The Empire Education Group, officially, in the very near future. Have you heard the name Westmore? If you are a Hollywood movie afficionado, you’ll recognize Westmore as the first name in movie studio make-up. Keep your ears open for more news about this acquisition.
Finally, if you haven’t noticed it already, Empire Education Group also encompasses the brand Hair Design School. With schools in 11 states and growing, Hair Design School focuses on just that: Hair. Also accredited, these schools may offer an beauty school education to girls who want to focus on just hair.
When you choose Empire Education Group, the parent company of Empire Beauty School, you aren’t just choosing a school, you are choosing over 78 years of beauty school history. We’re not stopping their, though. Empire has a bright future ahead of us. Don’t be blinded by the light.
