Naked Truth: What’s It Like at Beauty School
If you are considering beauty school, one of the main questions you’ll have is how your every day schedule will affect you. You’ll be curious if beauty school means a full time commitment. Can you keep your day job? While beauty school, like other educational programs, has its challenges, you’ll want to make sure you have an understanding of what it’s like at beauty school. Of course, you’ll get to see your classroom when you visit a beauty school, so don’t worry about that. You will want to focus on the curriculum and schedule of classes to be sure the beauty school you choose is a fit for you.
Simply, when you are considering which beauty school to attend, you will want to check the curriculum of each school. At Empire, we offer flexible part-time programs. You may also attend evening classes. Finally, you can choose to fully commit and take classes as quickly as you can. On a standard schedule, it takes about a year to qualify to complete the courses. The thing is, if you really need to keep your day job, you can. You can choose to attend just evening classes on your schedule. It may take you a bit longer, but it’s definitely not a deterrent to continue working while you’re in beauty school.
Now, if you are curious as to the day to day curriculum of beauty school, you’ll want to check out BeautySchoolStudent.com. Nina, who used to work in Social Media for Empire Education, decided to document her experience in a beauty school blog. You get first hand accounts of her experiences as she’s living them. She took great pictures of her studies, too. She talks candidly about being a beauty school student so you get the complete lowdown.
The bottom line is, beauty school is about flexibility. Not only in attending classes (let’s face it, studying isn’t easy) but in having the ability to continue your education and launch an awesome, typically flexible career. Once you obtain your cosmetology license, you have the option to work in all kinds of fields. Be a nail technician or cut hair. Hey, if you’re one of our many students who changed your life by attending beauty school under unusual circumstances, leave us a comment. We’d love to hear how things worked out or if a flexible beauty school schedule really worked for you.

I went to this school a few years ago and didn’t get to finish and I’d like to get back into it but I have an 11-7 job now. Exactly how well is the flexibility for a situation like mine?
