Protect & Moisturize your Skin– if you leave your face unprotected from the heat/sun for long periods in the day it will cause early aging and inner damage you may not even see. Instead of using a sunblock with lots of oils, try using a moisturizer with SPF, one that particularly says “non-comedogenic” or “oil-free”. This will protect your face while keeping it hydrated.
Stay Away from Heavy Foundations– using a heavy foundation in the summer tends to become caked and streaky looking and adds more emphasis to the lines and wrinkles of the face. Instead use a translucent powder to take away the shine. If you need a little bit more coverage try using a tinted moisturizer or a light concealer.
Apply a Primer to Eyes -a primer will help keep your shadow in place and will prevent it from creasing on your lids, this is great all year long but especially during the summer months when perspiration increases.
Wear Waterproof Mascara– if you don’t get the chance to take your make-up off before hitting the pool or beach, or your outside where it is really hot & humid- waterproof mascara will keep it from running or smudging down your face and causing dark circles under your eyes.
Apply Bronzer to the Face– Adding a little bit of bronzer to your face will give you that sun-kissed glow that we all want during the summer. You want to make sure not to over due it with the bronzer and apply too much or all over the face. Just apply to the Forehead, Nose, Chin and then lightly around the hair line.
Protect your Lips – one of the easiest things to forget when you are laying on the beach or at the pool is to protect your lips-they have a very thin layer of skin and can easily burn. Remember to apply a lip balm with SPF. Always keep it close by and re-apply frequently. There are many lip care products available with SPF even in tinted colors and glosses.
Keep Colors Natural– Natural make-up is perfect for the summer and gives you that sunkissed- tan look. Use pinks, peach, gold, bronze and beige colors for cheeks and lips.
