As you consider your future at beauty school, you are probably most concerned with how you’ll pay for beauty school. This is the number one concern of almost all students, so don’t worry. It doesn’t matter if you’re attending beauty school or any other college program, the cost can still be worrisome.
Here are a few facts to help ease your mind:
1. Make sure the schools you’re considering are accredited. Accredited means that an independent body which is regulated by the Department of Education audits and regulates the curriculum a school offers to make sure it meets certain standards. Empire Beauty Schools are accredited by National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts & Sciences (NAACS). Significantly, only accredited schools are allowed to offer government assistance (to those who qualify.) Financial aid means you are provided government loans which you pay back, typically once you’ve completed your program. At Empire, our process means you work with a Career Planning Specialist to help you get started. They walk you through the paperwork and application process to apply for government loans.
2. Beauty school may also be affordable via scholarships or grants. The great part about scholarships is that you don’t have to pay them back when you graduate. They are basically ‘free’ money. It’s important to ask a guidance counselor what scholarships might be available for beauty school in your area. There are various organizations that offer beauty school grants. You’ll want to look at local clubs and organizations, like Rotaries. You may check at the local library for this information.
The point can be beauty school is affordable. You just have to apply with our Career Planning Specialist. Have them get you started with the financial aid paperwork. Then talk you your guidance counselor about local programs. If you still feel frustrated, call us, we’re here to help!
