Discount Beauty Supplies: 3 Secrets to Saving Money on Make-up
by Empire Beauty School
Beauty school is all about looking your best. We cut, color and style hair. Some do make-up and nails, too. As image consultants, it’s important to look and feel your best. That means make-up and beauty supplies. You’re the go to girl for the latest lip gloss. Clients rely on you to give advice on which hair care products work the best. There’s no easy way around how expensive some of these beauty supplies can be. From a guru of savings, here are 3 secrets to saving money:
Coupons are amazing. Find them in your local paper, the big fat one you get on Sundays. Make sure you check the inserts. There should be a stack of coupons inside. Clip them out and stick them in an envelope to carry with you. (You might pop it in your glove compartment if carrying it around is too much.) You know that new Natureluxe line by Maybelline? There was a $5 off two products coupon offered in the paper a few weeks ago.
Double up coupons with store discounts. Now that you have a stack of coupons, keep an eye out for pharmacy and grocery store discounts like 25% off Maybelline this week. So, a $5 product costs $4 on sale and you have a $1 off coupon. That’s $3! Whoo hoo. It even works on ‘Buy one get one free’ offers. That means you get a $1 off the one you’re buying, and the second one is FREE.
Subscribe to the flier. Stores like Ulta let you sign up for their weekly flier. Guess what’s on the back? A coupon for $3.50 off when you spend $10. There are two tricks. One, get your order as close to $10 as you can. (They let you use coupons with the store coupon, too, so bring your envelope.) Two, look for 20% off one item coupons for your bigger items, like a new hair dryer. A $30 hair dryer for $24 bucks? Not bad, beauty girl.
If you’re thinking who has time to clip coupons, think again. You can save on products you buy every day. Coupons are a great way to save on beauty supplies. Who doesn’t love a discount? Oooh, Empire graduates and students, don’t forget the online Empire Beauty Store for professional grade goods.
