We’ve bleached them, we’ve plucked them, and we’ve waxed them into submission. This year, however, the eyebrows return. The beauty trend for Spring and Summer 2012 is a fuller, softer, darker brow than we have seen in previous seasons. With icons such as Kate Middleton sporting the fuller brow on her wedding day, it was just a
matter of time until it trickled down to the masses. A wild, full, brow graced the runway and editorials; however, this is definitely a trend that needs to be modified for the individual.
As someone who has been wounded a few times in the battle of the brow, I am leery of trends. I remember the months of pain I had to endure while growing in pencil thin brows. My stylist asking me and saying, “you are going to regret this…” Of course, I should’ve listened to the beauty professional, because within a week or two I looked…well, I really did regret it. Although the full brow seems easy enough, you do have to introduce that dreaded “growing out” phase to your eyebrows. A full brow also has to be carefully groomed, so don’t skip out on your waxing services. Although you aren’t taking a lot of brow off, you still want a clean line.
Of course for those of us with a creative streak, there is always a colored brow (I am sure you are going to see this look at Empire’s Future Professionals Expo.) Eyebrows of purple, blue, pink, and green have been popping up all over the beauty blogosphere. The great thing a
bout this brow? No bleach or dye needed. All you need is an angled eyeliner brush, a white cream eyeshadow, a vivid eye color and a little patience. With your angled eyeliner brush cover your eyebrows with the cream white shadow. Clean off your brush and lightly stroke the vivid colored eyeshadow over your brow and you are ready for a little adventure. I personally love a purple brow with bright green eye make-up look. Unfortunately, this brow look does not play nicely with the full brow trend. Brows need to be meticulously groomed to make this look, of course I love to be surprised by someone who can make things work!
