Empire Beauty School students in Aurora, Colorado, recently had the chance to impress family, friends, and the Aurora community with their cosmetology talent at the Aurora Hair Show. The Aurora Hair Show served not only as a fun and exciting way for the students to showcase their talents for the community, family and friends, but it was also a very successful way for the students to raise money to attend Empire’s 2010 Future Professionals Expo.
The students at Empire in Aurora created all the incredible hair styles and costumes for the event, which was complete with a light show and a DJ. The Aurora Hair Show featured 12 different scenes and themes. Some of the scenes included Circus, which featured a ring master, Sunken Ship, in which a real fish bowl was incorporated into the hairstyle, Journey to the East, which showcased intricate Asian-inspired styles, and Jack-in-the-Box, which was complete with models popping out of boxes. Some of the other scenes included in the hair show were Divas, Wedding, Kids, Vampire, and Old Hollywood.
With over 350 guests in attendance, the Aurora Hair Show was a huge success; Empire Beauty Schools is the first cosmetology school to host an event of such scale within Colorado. In addition to being a great fundraiser, Stephanie Coppage, Academic Director at Empire in Aurora, said the hair show was, “a great opportunity to showcase all the techniques that the students have acquired.”
