Hershey, PA-May 16, 2011- Every student dreams of landing a great job right of after school, but for one lucky Empire Education Group student, that dream will become reality. Empire, along with two-time Platform Artist of the Year and the star of Empire Education Group’s Masters of Beauty advanced education program, Nick Arrojo, have kicked off a new on-line contest open exclusively to students at Empire schools.
The first place winner of the “Master Apprentice” contest receives $10,000 in living expenses and a full-time, paid position at Arrojo Studio in NYC as an assistant. Students will register and upload a photo of their work onto the contest’s Facebook page. There, they can enter one of three categories-cutting, coloring or styling. The public will vote, and then combined with input from Nick and his team, quarter-finalists will be chosen and asked to upload 2-3 minute videos highlighting them and their work. From 10 semi-finalists, 3 finalists will travel to New York for interviews with Nick at Arrojo Studio. Quarter finalists will be chosen October 5. The winner will be announced on stage at Empire’s 2012 Future Professionals Expo in April 2012.
“This contest is really exciting for all of us at Arrojo Studio,” says Nick. “The winner will be joining our team and truly will become part of the Arrojo family. I have several Empire graduates working for me already, and I am thrilled to be able to offer one lucky student the chance to work with us here in New York City. I am looking for a hard-working, passionate stylist who is willing to grow and learn with us.”
“Starting his or her career at a salon like Arrojo Studio will be life-changing for this talented student,” says Frank Schoeneman, chairman and CEO of Empire Education Group. “Nick and his team have a passion for education. The Arrojo brand, from its style, to its products is consistently on the cutting edge of the professional beauty industry.” Second and Third Place winners also receive a cash prize, Masters of Beauty Skill Classes and the opportunity to attend a Beauty Systems Group event. A complete list of prizes and contest rules can be found on the contest web site.
Details of the “Master Apprentice” contest were unveiled at Empire’s Future Professionals Expo in Hershey, PA. The contest is running simultaneously with the company’s “Become the Next Master of Beauty” contest currently underway on Facebook.
