Cincinnati, OH, July 9th, 2010 – The latest addition to the Empire Education Group network of beauty schools is the newly acquired International Academy Cosmetology School, located in Cincinnati, OH. “We are thrilled about this new addition to our growing Empire Education Group family, and look forward to offering the talented future professionals in Cincinnati the opportunity to work successfully in an industry that they truly enjoy,” noted Franklin K. Schoeneman, chairman and CEO of Empire Education Group.
The newly acquired school will be restructured to include Empire’s digital teaching aids using Whiteboard and Nxtbook technology, which offer a visually dynamic approach to a student’s learning process and educational experience. Along with the 3-D methods, Empire Education Group will also implement the Certified Learning in Cosmetology (CLiC) curriculum into the schools cosmetology program. This innovative, colorful and exclusive-to-Empire curriculum incorporates an interactive, hands-on training experience, as well as marketing and business skills that are essential to a comprehensive cosmetology education and future career in the beauty industry.
Other educational advantages the International Academy Cosmetology students will benefit from include job placement assistance and networking opportunities through Empire’s alumni association and industry affiliations with thousands of salons and spas, such as the Regis Corporation’s 10,000 nationwide salons. Students also benefit from Empire’s family of beauty schools and can obtain advanced education at any Empire Education Group school across the country.
The Ohio students may also participate in Empire’s Future Professionals Expo-the largest student competition and tradeshow event in the nation. Students compete for incredible prizes such as shadowing industry icons, attending educational workshops in New York and other locations, as well as professional products and tools. The event also hosts numerous workshops featuring industry professionals demonstrating the latest tips and trends in beauty. Beauty manufacturers and vendors are also on hand to offer students the newest products and tools.
Students of the Cincinnati school will also be introduced to Empire’s philanthropic program Empire Gives Back, which educates and trains cosmetology students on identifying the signs of domestic abuse in their clients and how to respond appropriately. Empire schools also participate in fundraising through one day of beauty services with 100% of the proceeds donated to local women and children’s shelters. “We are committed to bringing our charitable spirit, our dedication to supporting our local communities and our active engagement in anti-domestic violence causes to our new Cincinnati campus,” added Schoeneman.
The newly acquired school is accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts & Sciences, Inc. (NACCAS), licensed in the state of Ohio and authorized by the U.S. Department of Education for participation in the Title IV Financial Aid programs.
