Empire Beauty Schools and Hair Design Schools offer free haircuts to the police officers, firefights and EMTs who help fight and prevent domestic violence.
Pottsville, PA—July 31, 2012 – To say thank you for the courageous work local first responders do in the treatment and prevention of domestic violence, Empire Education Group is offering complimentary haircuts to all police officers, firefighters and EMTs at all Empire student salons next week.
During First Responders Day celebrations August 6-10 (dates varies by location), local first responders will be treated to the complimentary services performed by senior level students under the supervision of licensed educators at all Empire Beauty School and Hair Design School student salons.
“The fight against domestic violence is an important battle for us at Empire,” says Frank Schoeneman, chairman and CEO of Empire Education Group. “Through our Empire Gives Back initiative, we have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and donations for local women’s shelters across the country. Since 2007, Empire Education Group has been supporting the fight against domestic violence through Empire Gives Back as well as Cut it Out, a training program exclusively for salon professionals helping them recognize possible signs of abuse in clients.” In addition to fundraising efforts, Empire also offers free beauty services to shelter residents and their children, as well as educational endowments.
This October, Empire will hold its 7th annual National Day of Beauty, in which 100% of proceeds from all student salons will go directly to local shelters.
